Nursing Director - Job# E15001

Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the Dean of Workforce Education, the Nursing Director provides leadership for the college's nursing program with primary responsibility for scheduling, curriculum development, compliance with accreditation standards, clinical placements, developing and maintaining essential working relationships between the college and the local health care community, and supervisory responsibility over the colleges Associate Degree Nursing program. Position may also include teaching up to 25% of full time. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Exercising independent judgment in the leadership of Centralia College's Nursing Program;
Developing and maintaining critical relationships with the local healthcare community;
Arrange appropriate clinical placements for nursing students
Developing class and clinical schedules;
Overseeing nursing program curriculum development;
Developing and managing nursing program operating and equipment budgets;
Working collaboratively with admission in recruiting and screening nursing students;
Maintaining accurate student files;
Assisting in the recruitment of qualified faculty;
Making recommendations on the granting of contract continuation and tenure of probationary faculty members;
Teaching;
Serving on college committees;
Recruiting members for and serving as secretary to the nursing program advisory;
Communicating and promoting college policies and initiatives to nursing faculty and staff;
Acting as liaison between the college and the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and ensuring the nursing program is in compliance with established practices and standards;
Securing and maintaining national accreditation (ACEN);
Preparing materials for specific and regional accreditation, and management of a possible baccalaureate in nursing at Centralia College; and
Performing other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time, administrative exempt position. The starting annual salary will be $82,000 depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
The state of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for state employees. The position may participate in the TIAA/CREF retirement system.
Desired start date is July 1, 2015.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Master's degree in nursing;
Current RN licensure in Washington State;
Five years of experience as a registered nurse; and
Experience in nursing education.
Preferred:
Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field.
Experience in higher education and administration.
Other Qualities:
Demonstrated ability to serve the needs of students who represent a broad spectrum of ages, abilities, ethnicities, educational and cultural backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
